Do
Call a licensed electrician if your mainbreaker trips more than once in a 30 day period.
Don't
Let it go. You could have a minor problem or you could have a major problem. Mainbreakers don't trip just because.
Do
Have an independent circuit ran for your extra refrigerator located in the garage or laundry room. By code the refrigerator is required to be on a separate circuit.
Don't
Plug your refrigerator into the GFI outlet located in your garage or laundry room. If the GFI trips you could loose all the food in the refrigerator.
Do
Hire a State Licensed electrician for all your electrical needs. State Licensed electricians carry General Liability Insurance and Workman's Compensation Insurance, it's the law. You can verify a license by going to myfloridalicense.com and clicking on verify a license.
Don't
Hire an unlicensed person. You may pay twice and they do not have the proper insurances therefore if they get hurt on your property you can be held responsible
Saving Electricity
Here are Some Tips for Saving Electricity:
- Install ceiling insulation.
- Keep curtains closed. This prevents heat loss in the winter and heat gain in the summer.
- Clean heating and air-conditioner filters regularly.
- Install ceiling fans and make sure they are spinning the right way.
- Close registers in unused rooms.
- Replace your old AC
- Dress appropriately.
- Choose energy-efficient appliances. Compare energy rating labels before you buy.
- Turn off appliances when you aren't using them.
- Remove dust and fluff from the fan and reflective surfaces of appliances to keep clean, efficient and safe.
